Asking for help is never easy. Sometimes you don't know who to go to, or you're too embarrassed because of the situation you're in. Sometimes you don't even know that you have a problem until it's too late. It's always important to remember that you're never alone, even if you feel like you are. There are always your friends, family, teachers, guidance counselors and other adults that you respect and trust.
Accepting help doesn't mean that you're weak, but rather it makes you stronger. It means that you're able to realize all that's happening to you, and you know that you may need someone's help to get through it. It doesn't make you any lesser of a person. Acknowledging is not a sign of weakness, but struggling alone is a choice to grow weak. Accepting help might make you feel vulnerable at times, but if you could depend on someone, not all the burden is on you now. Asking for help lifts stress from you. It means you're reaching out to someone, and they'll help to guide you through. It doesn't mean that they'll tell you what to do, but they'll help you think of your problems in a new light.
We all need each other. No one is an island.
